Religion Archive Index Religion is one of the most confusing, most divisive forces on earth - responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions throughout history. What a paradox that is. How tragic and senseless. Religion is supposed to be the force that binds us together in love and respect, is it not? It is not! Now, I do not pretend to be an "expert" on religion. I know only what I observe, and often question even that. But how many Christians have ever studied Islam or Judaism? I have sometimes learned more about Christianity from Muslims than from Christians. Likewise, how many Jews or Muslims have ever studied the teachings of Jesus-Isa? Did you know that Islam regards Jesus (Isa in the Koran) as the Messiah? Did you know the Koran recognizes the miraculous birth of Jesus-Isa, foretold by an angel of God? Within my own "religion" (Christianity) - and I must use the word "religion" with caution - I know of at least 50 versions of the Holy Bible. The earliest one most of us know of is the King James Bible. That version is far from complete and far from accurate. It is the product of a despotic king (King James) who wanted the "secrets of spiritual power" encoded in such a way as to be hidden from the masses, yet readily available to the elite who would control those masses. The best way to hide something is often to do it in plain sight. Disguise it as something else, write it in "the King's English" (which the masses cannot understand), then appoint the elite to "translate" and "interpret" for them. EXPERIMENT: Go to www.biblegateway.com, which has 50 English versions of the Bible. Type in the phrase "son of man" (in quotes). Then, do a search for that phrase in each of the 50 available versions. You will be amazed at how many translations completely erase the phrase. Then, do the same for "son of God" and then "sons of God." These are critical phrases, dealing with the very nature of Jesus himself ... yet with each new translation it seems all references are being destroyed. Then, you will understand why so many people are confused by the mixed and conflicting messages of Christianity. Then, you will better understand why Christianity is splintered into Catholics, (with all their own subsets) and Lutherans, Baptists, Presbyterians, Church of Christ, etc., etc. (and of course all of those subsets). Christians speak with a thousand tongues. It is no different with Judaism or Buddhism or Islam. Would it not be better to look at what we have in common rather than what divides us? Man has re-created God in his own image and that image is so varied as to become meaningless. If all of it is truth, then none of it is truth. Do we really need "a middleman" between us and our Creator? And if so, who would we choose? Pat Robertson? Osama bin Laden? Jimmy Swaggart? Guru Baghwan? Billy Graham? Jim Jones? Charlie Manson? Anton LaVey? Or at the moment of our creation, did the Creator give us "the ultimate implant" - a direct channel to the Creator? Something we call "conscience" or "soul" or "inner knowing"? Or, if you're an agnostic or atheist, then perhaps you choose to believe there is no greater power than yourself. Or, as a satanist, you may believe you - and you alone - are God and "do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." But don't we find ourselves in the position of those we laughingly derided as "cargo cults" in World War II? (look up "cargo cult" on Google.) We see a pencil - and we call it God. We look in the mirror and call it God. Yet that pencil or the face in the mirror was created by something higher. We need to reach farther for understanding. We need to stretch ourselves to glimpse a greater truth. Our children see through our illusions better than we adults. They see our hypocrisy, our evil, our greed, our lust, our perversions and our shameful shortcomings - all the time we are "preaching the gospel." And so they turn to complete rejection and trap of Satanism and self-worship ensnare them. Is it their fault? Or is it the fault of those thousands of fractured religions which have become abominations? The
